'Your Ghosts Are Mine' exhibition extended in Santiago until November 1 as Years of culture legacy interest grows

The exhibition "Your Ghosts Are Mine: Expanded Cinemas, Amplified Voices" has been extended at Centro Cultural La Moneda in Santiago, Chile until November 1, 2026. This critically acclaimed showcase, which features film and video art from Qatar's collections, has been a significant part of the 2025 Years of Culture partnership between Chile and Qatar. Over 15,000 visitors have already experienced the powerful stories of migration, exile, and memory presented in the exhibition.

The extension of the exhibition follows the recent visit of Qatar Museums Chairperson and Years of Culture Founder, Her Highness Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, to Santiago. Her visit highlighted the cultural ties between the two nations and generated renewed interest in the exhibition. The extension also aligns with the strategic objective of Centro Cultural La Moneda to bring major exhibitions to Chile, fostering cultural diplomacy and enriching the local society.

The exhibition's Director, Zeina Arida, expressed the rewarding nature of bringing "Your Ghosts Are Mine" to Santiago, noting the meaningful connections audiences make between stories that might initially appear distant. Art Mill Museum Director of Concept, Catherine Grenier, highlighted the ambitious attempt to reorganize the moving image's conventional categories and cross geopolitical borders, the exhibition's role in the future Art Mill Museum's vision to fully integrate cinema into the history of art.

The Santiago presentation marks the exhibition's first stop in Latin America, following shows in Venice and Doha. This extension reflects Years of Culture's ongoing commitment to building lasting relationships that extend beyond a single year, creating new projects, exchanges, and opportunities for connection between Qatar, Chile, and the wider international community.
