Melaka polls: Pas ready to use own logo, with or without BN cooperation

Kota Baru: Political understanding holds greater importance than the logo used in Melaka state elections, according to Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. The deputy head of the party declared readiness to employ its distinctive logo regardless of BN cooperation's outcome. Even if BN collaboration materializes or falters, Pas stands firm on utilizing its logo.

This long-standing, well-known party is confident that its emblem will be embraced by Melaka voters. What truly matters, Tuan Man emphasized, is reaching an understanding, as the logo itself isn't the primary concern if the understanding is achieved. On the other hand, BN chairman Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed openness to discussing the use of the Pas logo in Melaka's elections as part of ongoing political cooperation talks.

The BN leader said BN would engage in discussions with various parties this week to decide on the cooperation format for the polls, following Perikatan Nasional's (PN) suggestion of using the Pas logo if its emblem wasn't available. PN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan echoed the sentiment, suggesting that the coalition might utilize the Pas logo if its symbol couldn't be used, while Bersatu could contest under its own logo.

Takiyuddin noted that the logo's significance was minimal in Melaka, and Pas had no qualms about using its own emblem in the upcoming state election.
