Budget ministry, Vietnam discuss public financial management

Seoul, September 28 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean budget ministry has recently briefed a delegation of high-ranking Vietnamese government officials on the country's public financial management policies, according to the Ministry of Planning and Budget. The meeting was attended by Kang Young-kyu, a senior official in charge of future strategy at the budget ministry, and Nguyen Duc Chi, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Finance, as reported by the ministry.

During the discussion, South Korea shared its fiscal policies, with a particular focus on its approach to public financial management. Both South Korea and Vietnam exchanged views on the subject, as outlined by the ministry. The visit came after a recommendation from the World Bank, which aimed to facilitate knowledge sharing between the two nations. Vietnam expressed a desire to learn from South Korea's fiscal policies and reform experience.

The Ministry of Planning and Budget stated that the budget ministry intends to continue sharing its expertise in budget management and future strategy with major partners, including Vietnam. The ministry also intends to identify specific cooperation projects to further strengthen ties and enhance collaboration between the two countries.
