NADRA Announces Special CNIC Facility for Women Without Birth Certificates

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a special facility enabling women aged 18 and older to acquire a CNIC without a birth certificate. According to NADRA, married women can apply by presenting a computerized Nikah Nama, while biometric verification of either the applicant's husband or one of her parents is necessary.

Unmarried women in the same age group must submit a parent, sibling, or both's CNIC as supporting documents, along with a parent or sibling for biometric verification during the application process. NADRA introduced this initiative to ease the process for women encountering challenges in obtaining their first CNIC due to the lack of a birth certificate.

Initially slated to remain available until December 31, NADRA has given December 21, 2026 as the validity date for the special CNIC facility. Applicants are urged to finalize their CNIC applications within the specified timeframe and adhere to the required documentation and biometric verification standards.
