Korea fall to Uruguay for 1st loss under Moreno

Korea suffered their first loss under temporary head coach Robert Moreno, falling 4-1 to Uruguay in a friendly football match in Seoul on Monday. The South Korean team, known as the Taegeuk Warriors, fell short in their first encounter with Uruguay, having previously won 3-0 against them in Moreno's first game as head coach. Uruguay's Darwin Nunes and Giorgian de Arrascaeta each scored in the 13th and 27th minutes, respectively, before Nunes added another goal in the 62nd minute to make it 4-0.

In the 80th minute, South Korea's captain Son Heung-min equalized for the home team, reaching a career total of 58 international goals, tying him with Cha Bum-kun for the most goals by a Korean male player. Despite Korea's early attempts to control possession, Uruguay capitalized on vulnerabilities in the defense during the 13th minute, leading to Nunes scoring the first goal.

Additionally, an own goal by Korean defender Kim Min-jae contributed to the final score in the first half. The team's record against Uruguay stands at one win, two draws, and eight losses. Their next match is scheduled for a 8 p.m. Friday game against Venezuela at Ulsan, in the southeastern part of the country.
