Korea fall to Uruguay for 1st loss under Moreno

Korea suffered their first loss under interim head coach Robert Moreno, falling 4-1 to Uruguay in a friendly match held at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Monday. The South Korean team's struggles were evident from the start, as Uruguay capitalized on defensive vulnerabilities just 13 minutes into the game. Darwin Nunes and Giorgian de Arrascaeta scored for Uruguay, one each in the 13th and 27th minutes respectively.

Korea's defense suffered another setback when Kim Min-jae inadvertently scored an own goal late in the first half, making the score 3-1 in favor of Uruguay.

Uruguay extended their lead to 4-1 in the 62nd minute when Nunes added another goal, his 58th international goal, tying him with Cha Bum-kun for the most goals scored by a Korean male player. Korean captain Son Heung-min pulled one back for his team in the 80th minute, marking his 58th career goal, also tying him with Cha Bum-kun for most international goals by a Korean male player.

Despite their efforts, Korea could not overcome Uruguay's superior performance and ultimately lost their first match under Moreno's temporary leadership. Korea has a record of one win, two draws, and eight losses against Uruguay in past encounters. Their next match will be against Venezuela at Ulsan on Friday at 8 p.m.
