KAI, POSCO International team up for aerospace cooperation in Mexico

Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) has announced a new partnership with POSCO International Corp. and the Mexican aerospace industry group, FEMIA, to enhance aerospace cooperation in Mexico and explore opportunities in the larger Latin American market. The agreement was signed during President Lee Jae Myung's recent state visit to Mexico.

As part of the memorandum of understanding (MOU), KAI intends to develop business models focused on supply chain cooperation. The company aims to delve into new business prospects in Latin America. POSCO International will play a supportive role in integrating certain Mexican companies into KAI's aerospace manufacturing supply chain.

FEMIA, representing over 100 member companies, will aid in facilitating exchanges with Mexico's aerospace ecosystem. They will assist in identifying potential local partners and provide pertinent information on government policies. This collaboration is expected to bolster the FA-50 light combat aircraft's expansion into Central America, building upon their existing cooperation with Mexico.
