Indian influencer Nidhi Tiwari, with 1.6m followers, dies by suicide at 30

Dubai: Influencer Nidhi Tiwari, who amassed a combined 1.6 million followers across Facebook and Instagram, tragically took her own life at the young age of 30, according to Indian media outlets. The 30-year-old resident of Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh was discovered hanging at her residence in the Bhusa Mod area on Saturday. Her family promptly rushed her to the hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her deceased. Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.

Pakistani TikTok star with 1.3 million followers was also shot dead, with her sister sustaining injuries in a separate incident. Tiwari's social media influence was significant, with nearly 900,000 followers on Facebook and roughly 700,000 on Instagram. As one of the more prominent social media personalities from the Vindhya region, her posts frequently garnered thousands of reactions, while certain videos garnered millions of views.

She gained further recognition after winning the Miss Pretty India title in 2024. Following her achievement, Tiwari's profile expanded beyond her hometown of Singrauli as she endeavored to establish a career in modeling and acting.

Local reports suggest that Tiwari harbored aspirations of entering the film industry, having actively pursued modeling, event opportunities, and digital content creation. Her social media accounts also showcased her passion for entertainment and fashion. Her family informed local media that Tiwari was in conversation with someone on the phone on Saturday evening prior to her death.

However, police have advised against speculating about the reasons behind her death, stating that the events leading up to it are still under investigation. Police are scrutinizing her call records, digital activity, and other pertinent information as they strive to unravel the circumstances surrounding her death.

Morwa police station in-charge, Dr Gyanendra Singh, indicated that officers are currently collecting information from Tiwari's family, acquaintances, and others associated with the case. As the investigation unfolds, a more comprehensive understanding of the events is anticipated. News of Tiwari's passing elicited widespread grief on social media platforms, with followers posting tributes and condolence messages.
