'I don't have any regrets' –Tom Pidcock says he did all he could in 'really difficult' World Championships road race

Tom Pidcock expressed no regrets after finishing seventh in the elite men's World Championships road race, despite the challenging conditions. The race saw a strong attack by Brandon McNulty with 33km remaining, which made it extremely difficult to establish gaps. Pidcock acknowledged the difficult tactical situation, stating that it was "very difficult" and that he had "really, really good legs."

However, he attributed the challenge to the strong support from his USA teammates, particularly Matteo Jorgenson and Isaac Del Toro, who were part of the final selection. Pidcock also mentioned that the chase group, including himself, seemed unwilling to work together to catch McNulty, which added to the difficulty. He admitted that the early crash he sustained, which resulted in a bloody knee, did not help his chances.

Nevertheless, Pidcock felt he had done everything possible and would not have any regrets about his performance. He concluded that it was "really difficult" and that he "don't have any regrets," with the hope that more years would allow him to try again.
