Gruha Jyothi verification: Bescom to revisit 5.5 lakh beneficiaries who failed to submit documents and refused to provide details

As Gruha Jyothi door-to-door survey nears completion, Bescom will reassess 5.5 lakh beneficiaries who have either failed to submit required documents or refused to provide personal details during the verification process. Officials from the Energy department revealed that a second round of verification would be conducted for these 5.5 lakh beneficiaries within Bescom's jurisdiction.

A senior Bescom official stated, "Out of the 68.86 lakh Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries in our area, we have completed approximately 99% of the household survey. The remaining 5.5 lakh beneficiaries either failed to provide documents like Aadhaar, Voter ID, or refused to provide them." Gaurav Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, added, "We intended to make policy changes for those who couldn't provide details due to various reasons, including a lack of necessary documents.

They will undergo verification during the second round of door-to-door survey." The initial survey was scheduled to be finished by August 31, but the deadline has been extended until September 30.
