농업직 공무원 ‘팀장즈’, AI로 폭우·농산물값 감시 시스템 만들다

Kim Jinhyeong, the head of Chungcheongnam-do's rural affairs team, previously had to manually search CCTV video footage from various locations to check the flood situation in each region. Last July, he shared a thought with other team heads about creating a system where they could view everything at a glance. After two and a half months, their idea became a useful administrative system for managing agricultural disasters in Chungcheongnam-do.

The government announced on the 28th that the team developed two integrated management systems - the Integrated Disaster Management System for Agriculture (AgriBoard) and the Harvest & Price Monitoring System for Agricultural Products (AgriMarket) - using artificial intelligence (AI). The team consisted of Kim Jinhyeong, head of the Rural Affairs Team; Jo Han-baek, head of the Agricultural Policy Team; and Park Jae-hyuk, head of the Nationwide Distribution Team.

Kim Jinhyeong used ChatGPT and Vibe Coding to create the applications, working closely with Jo and Park to address and improve program issues. The "Agricultural Disaster Integrated Management System" brought together CCTV footage from various locations across Chungcheongnam-do, while the "Harvest & Price Monitoring System" compared and predicted patterns in production volumes and historical price trends of Chungcheongnam-do agricultural products listed on the Korean Rural and Food Distribution Corporation (aT).

Kim Jinhyeong explained that while generating AI systems isn't always instant, they spent over two months repeating the process of describing real-world issues to AI, consulting AI for solutions, and revising the code whenever new errors were discovered. The team is now using these AI-created administrative apps for actual work.

Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) Director General This-hwan plans to develop another two similar systems as well: the Rural Life Services System (AgriService) for providing rural living services information, and the Livestock Production & Pricing Management System (AgriLivestock) for managing harvest and pricing.

MAFRA Director General This-hwan stated that AI can be used as a tool to not only improve efficiency in administrative tasks beyond document writing and image creation but also to transform overall work methods. He added that he plans to integrate AI into all aspects of his work to further boost the efficiency of government operations.
