2027: Again, NDC, Obi-Kwankwaso camp lock horns

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) recently began registration for support groups ahead of the 2027 presidential election, leading to tensions with several other movements. The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement disagreed with the NDC's actions, stating that their structures remained independent from the party.

The NDC clarified that the registration process was free and exclusive to their Directorate of Support Groups, threatening disciplinary action for non-compliance. John Ughulu, the NDC's Director-General, argued that the movement's internal affairs did not require NDC leadership approval. Habibu Muhammed, the Kwankwasiyya Movement's spokesman, emphasized understanding and cooperation between the party and support groups to ensure a successful Obi-Kwankwaso ticket.
