2027: Again, NDC, Obi-Kwankwaso camp lock horns

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has launched a registration process for support groups ahead of the 2027 presidential election, sparking conflict with certain groups backing the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement. The party cautioned against any attempts to collect fees during the registration process. The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, however, have expressed their disagreement with the NDC's initiative.

The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement's Director-General, John Ughulu, maintains that his organization remains an independent political entity and will not allow external interference in its structure. He emphasized that the NDC's authority does not extend to the internal affairs of an independent political group. The Kwankwasiyya Movement's Habibu Muhammed called for understanding between the NDC and the support groups, emphasizing the importance of creating an environment where all parties can support the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket.
