USC suspends LB Desman Stephens for 1 game for his dangerous hit on Oregon QB Dante Moore

Southern California has suspended its linebacker Desman Stephens for one game following a dangerous hit on Oregon quarterback Dante Moore. The incident occurred during the Ducks' 41-27 victory over the Trojans in the second quarter at the Coliseum. Stephens dove in to tackle Moore while he was sliding to the ground, causing Moore's head to snap back and hit the turf hard.

Moore was left motionless on the grass with an ambulance and neck brace taking him away. Stephens apologized in a statement, expressing deep regret for his actions and accepting full responsibility for his behavior. Coach Lincoln Riley called Stephens' actions "unacceptable," while Oregon coach Dan Lanning described the hit as "disgusting."

Despite being ejected from the game, Stephens was allowed back on the sideline after the ejection, reportedly due to his status as a Trojan.
