Sport : LTdL 2026: Aiman Rosli Secures Best Asian Rider Jersey In Stage 1

KAMPAR, Sept 27 — Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) cyclist Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli made a strong start to the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026 by claiming the Best Asian Rider title after Stage 1. The 27-year-old led the race from Shah Alam to Kampar, covering 193 kilometers. Aiman had initially planned a breakaway but secured points at two sprint zones, despite struggling to keep up in the third zone in Teluk Intan.

He finished the stage in last place with 70 riders, but a strong performance in the Ijok sprint zone and first place in Kuala Selangor allowed him to clinch the top spot in the Best Asian Rider chart with a time of 4:06:49s. His teammates, Aisan Racing Team's Hijiri Oda and Malaysia Pro Cycling's Mohamad Izzat Hilmi Abdul Jalil, followed him closely in second and third places respectively.

Stage 2 will test the riders with a 145.6km route from Taiping to Gunung Jerai, featuring three sprint zones and two climb zones, including a challenging climb up Gunung Jerai for the first time since 1996. Aiman emphasized the importance of conserving energy for tomorrow's race due to the steep climbs.
