Saudi Arabia calls for 'comprehensive' regional navigation security

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, addressed the United Nations General Assembly, advocating for a comprehensive regional navigation security framework. He emphasized that safeguarding international navigation is a shared responsibility, necessitating serious international cooperation. Prince Faisal, representing the Saudi delegation at the gathering, further stressed Riyadh's support for efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region. He highlighted that any security arrangements should be all-encompassing.

Prince Faisal expressed his backing for initiatives focused on de-escalation, particularly those led by Qatar and Pakistan. He believed these steps could contribute to restoring regional stability. The minister also took aim at Iran, accusing it of conducting blatant attacks on civilian and economic targets across the region. He urged the international community to condemn the actions of the Houthi group, which threaten shipping in the Red Sea.
