Rocco Conti’s TD run lifts Air Force to 36-33 victory over Nevada in 2OT

Air Force secured a 36-33 victory over Nevada in a thrilling double-overtime game on Saturday night. The Falcons' Rocco Conti sealed the win with a 7-yard rushing touchdown in overtime. Leading up to this, Carter Cremascoli and Joe McFadden exchanged field goals in the first overtime, with McFadden contributing a second field goal.

Nevada staged a remarkable comeback, rallying from a 10-point deficit in the final 5:56 of regulation to force overtime, tying the score at 27-all. Herschel Turner had already scored a 57-yard touchdown run earlier, reducing the deficit to 10 points. Late in the first quarter, Turner added another touchdown, extending the Wolf Pack's lead to 10-3.

Liam Szarka's 16-play, 92-yard drive culminated in a 10-10 tie at halftime. In the third quarter, Air Force took the lead with Cremascoli's 33-yard field goal, but AJ Bianco responded with a 9-yard touchdown run, putting Nevada ahead 17-13 heading into the fourth quarter. Szarka again proved decisive, finishing a 62-yard drive with a 7-yard toss to Matt Long and adding a 8-yard touchdown run with just 5:56 left on the clock, giving Air Force a 27-17 lead.

Szarka recorded 171 rushing yards on 33 carries and 92 yards passing in the game for the Falcons (2-1, 1-1). Carter Jones completed 18 of 30 passes for 224 yards for the Wolf Pack (1-3), and Herschel Turner finished with 111 yards on 11 carries. Air Force will host Navy on October 3, while Nevada faces UTEP on October 10.
