Army rescues six abductees in Benue

The Nigerian Army has initiated construction and improvement projects at its 11 Brigade headquarters in Gboko, located in Benue State. The objective of these renovations is to enhance the Army's operational presence within the region. Major General Moses Gara, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 5 Division, provided an update during a visit to the site, where he examined the living quarters and ongoing building modifications.

Accompanied by Brigadier General MD Abdulsalam, the Garrison Commander of the 5 Division, and other senior officers from the division and the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke, Gara also evaluated the well-being of the troops and the operational preparedness of the brigade. The inspection primarily concentrated on the advancement of the current initiatives and the facilities necessary to support the efficient operations of the personnel assigned to the area.

Gara applauded the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General AO Odubiyi, for upholding the required standards and urged the officers and soldiers to maintain professionalism and dedication to the Army's mission of preserving peace and security within their jurisdiction. It is worth noting that the newly established 5 Division was among four additional divisions created by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bolster the security presence throughout the state.
