PRN Melaka: Bersatu sedia guna lambang sendiri jika PN terus digantung

Malaysian Democratic Party (Bersatu) Melaka has started utilizing its own symbol for the upcoming PRN, should the Perikatan Nasional (PN) continue to be held up by the Registration of Associations Department (JPPM), according to Bersatu's public relations chief, Hishamuddin Abdul Karim. The decision, however, remains subject to the paramount considerations of the party's leadership.

Hishamuddin explained to FMT that the symbol change takes into account current developments and potentially approved forms of political cooperation. He emphasized that Bersatu Melaka remains active and is preparing for PRN, without solely relying on the logo issue. The JPPM issued the notice to the combined party last Wednesday, aiming to safeguard the interests of PN from further violating regulations.

Hishamuddin confirmed that political cooperation discussions with Pakatan Harapan (PH) are ongoing at both state and central levels. Bersatu Melaka remains open to considering any form of political cooperation that may arise, including PH Plus or the so-called PH Plus framework that was previously publicly announced by PH Melaka's chairman, Adly Zahari.

The specific form of cooperation, share of parliamentary seats, or approach to confront PRN is ultimately up to party leadership's discretion, he added, noting that no final decision has been made, including seat allocation.

Adly was quoted by Bernama as stating that the distribution of seats among PH Melaka's components has been finalized, but the final arrangement will be decided after discussions among the PH presidency, the PH state, and PH election commissioner Amirudin Shari. Meanwhile, Hishamuddin reiterated that Bersatu Melaka continues to support Radzi Md Jidin as the party's chairman, with Mohamad Ali Mohamad as the election commissioner and himself as the main campaign organizer.
