Ole Miss coach Pete Golding doesn’t want his players ‘to get this taste out of their mouth’

Mississippi coach Pete Golding expressed his frustration over his team's recent loss to Florida. The Rebels, ranked fourth, suffered a 52-28 defeat to the 21st-ranked Florida Gators in a game that Golding believes his players should savor due to their losses. Florida's dominant performance, characterized by a 302-yard rushing attack and six ground touchdowns, left Ole Miss struggling to keep up.

Golden's team allowed at least 140 yards rushing in four consecutive games, a trend he aimed to correct. He criticized his defense for its lack of intensity and courage during the match, emphasizing that his team needed to be "chest-to-chest" with Florida's star running back Jadan Baugh. Despite a strong performance from Heisman Trophy frontrunner Trinidad Chambliss, who completed 25 of 34 passes for 298 yards, including a touchdown, an interception, and two scores, the Rebels ultimately fell short.

Golding warned his players not to let this defeat define their season, emphasizing the need to address their shortcomings in all phases of the game.
