Semporna, September 27 — Six individuals were injured, one critically, when three vehicles collided yesterday while attempting to evade oil palm fruit scattered across a road in Simpang Empat Kalumpang. Semporna Fire and Rescue Station chief Zainal Sinsin reported receiving a call at 9:52am and promptly dispatching his team to the scene.
They found an Isuzu D Max, a Toyota Hilux, and a Toyota Avanza entangled in a crash, with the lorry carrying the fruit also involved. Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) provided initial care to the seriously injured driver before transporting him to Semporna Hospital. The individual with heart complications was sent to Tawau for further treatment via ambulance.
Two other victims were also taken to Semporna Hospital by ambulance, and two women were attended to by EMRS personnel, ultimately arriving at the same hospital.
