Negeri Sembilan reps arrive at Umno HQ for talks with Zahid on crisis

At approximately 8pm, Negeri Sembilan assemblymen from both Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional began arriving at the Umno headquarters in Menara Dato Onn for a meeting with BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The assemblymen, led by Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim, included representatives from several constituencies such as Asna Amin from Lenggeng, Zaidy Abdul Kadir from Jeram Padang, and Siti Nur Umaira Hasim from Labu, among others.

The delegation also featured Umno chief and Pertang assemblyman Jalaluddin Alias, as well as his PAS counterpart Fairuz Isa, and Wawasan Sikamat assemblyman Razali Abu Samah.

The BN and PN formed a crucial electoral alliance during the Negeri Sembilan state election held on August 1, which resulted in the two coalitions taking power away from Pakatan Harapan. On the same day, Zahid, who serves as both Umno president and BN chairman, announced that he would meet with all 25 Negeri Sembilan assemblymen from both parties to find a resolution to the constitutional crisis.

Last week, the Negeri Sembilan executive council released a statement purportedly confirming the removal of Tuanku Muhriz as the Yang Dipertuan Besar. However, the Attorney-General's Chambers declared the statement invalid, as neither the Menteri Besar nor the executive council possess the authority to make such a declaration. In response, Tuanku Muhriz subsequently revoked the appointments of the executive council members for allegedly breaching their oaths of office and pledging allegiance to the state ruler.

Zahid also instructed Ismail Lasim, the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, to seek an audience with Tuanku Muhriz and the four undangs (state legislators) in order to resolve the ongoing crisis.
