IGP: Negeri Sembilan remains calm amid disputed ruler proclamation

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail has stated that public order in Negeri Sembilan remains stable despite a constitutional dispute over a proclamation purporting to remove Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as Yang di-Pertuan Besar. Khalid assured that police are monitoring the situation and safeguarding public order, while investigations into reported controversies are ongoing.

Several individuals have already been called to provide statements. The police are probing the various reports lodged over the issue and will submit their findings to the Attorney-General for further action. It is believed that the controversy may involve the Sedition Act or other offences, which requires scrutiny by the Attorney-General's Chambers.

Meanwhile, Penang police chief Datuk Dennis Lim Kwang Keng announced the "Whitening the Black Spot" initiative, which aims to raise community awareness and reduce crime in identified high-risk localities. The initiative includes 14 programs involving 38 initiatives to be implemented by district police headquarters. Additionally, a logo competition themed "Unite for Safety" for vocational and secondary school students has been planned.
