IGP confirms ex-Negeri Sembilan exco members to be summoned

IGP Khalid Ismail has announced that 10 former members of the Negeri Sembilan executive council will be summoned for an investigation into the state’s ongoing royal and administrative crisis. This decision follows multiple police reports lodged over the issue. The statements from these former exco members, along with several other parties, are expected to be taken starting tomorrow.

IGP Khalid did not provide details on the investigation but did not rule out the possibility of classifying the case under the Sedition Act. Earlier, the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz, revoked the appointments of the 10 exco members, citing their breach of oaths and allegiance to the state ruler. This move came after the exco released a statement purportedly affirming Tuanku Muhriz’s removal as the state ruler, which happened a week after they took their oaths on August 7.
