Foreign Ministry advises Malaysians in Bangkok to stay connected with embassy

Bangkok, September 27 — Malaysia's Foreign Ministry has advised its nationals residing in or visiting Bangkok to maintain contact with the Malaysian Embassy for assistance and updates amid widespread flooding that has impacted several districts and major transportation routes in the city. The advisory, issued on Sunday, highlighted that numerous Malaysians have been affected by the floods, and the Embassy is providing the necessary support and assistance.

Malaysians seeking consular help or with information on other affected Malaysians can reach the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok through the contact numbers +66 2 340 5720, +66 2 340 5731, or +66 87 028 4659, or via email at mwbangkok@kln.gov.my. The ministry strongly urged Malaysian citizens who have not yet registered their presence in Thailand to do so through the e-Konsular system.

The embassy emphasized that it is maintaining close communication with local authorities while monitoring the ongoing situation. It also advised Malaysians to exercise caution, remain vigilant, and strictly adhere to safety directives issued by local authorities. Furthermore, Malaysians traveling to Suvarnabhumi Airport were urged to allocate extra travel time and arrive well ahead of their scheduled departure, as access routes may face delays due to persistent heavy rain that has been flooding all 50 districts of Bangkok since Thursday, according to Bernama's reports.
