Delhi minister Parvesh Verma loses cool, slaps man filming him during road inspection | Video

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a video purportedly showing Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Pravesh Verma slapping a local youth during a heated altercation in Tilak Nagar. The party claims Verma lost his temper after locals and AAP MLA Jarnail Singh confronted him over the substandard quality of road work and alleged irregularities in the project.

In a social media post, AAP stated, "Look, when the road scam of PWD Minister Pravesh Verma was exposed on camera by the local public, in a fit of rage, the minister slapped a local youth." The 46-second clip appears to depict a chaotic scene involving a sizable crowd gathered around Verma under a flyover structure in Tilak Nagar.

Several individuals are seen holding up their mobile phones to record the confrontation, while several security personnel in uniform can be seen amidst the turmoil. While the video does not independently confirm AAP's assertion that Verma actually slapped the youth, it does capture a physical altercation between the minister and a young man recording the incident.

AAP alleges that the confrontation began when locals and Jarnail Singh raised concerns about the quality of PWD road construction in the area, claiming that the work was exposed on camera, leading to an escalation in tensions. The party describes the irregularities as a "road scam" and claims that the road was supposed to have a thicker layer of material, with some reports indicating that significantly less material was used than specified.
