Dakwaan rasmi majlis pecah tanah penempatan pelarian Myanmar tidak benar, kata Zaliha

Former Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territory) Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa has denied allegations that she attended, inaugurated, or participated in any land seizure ceremonies for the resettlement of new Myanmar refugees. She strongly condemned the social media allegations as false and malicious, emphasizing that they falsely linked her to someone without any personal or official connection.

Dr Zaliha clarified that the circulated image is believed to have been taken at the ASEAN Urbanization and Governance (ASUF) Forum, ASEAN Goodwill Ambassadors and Mayors Forum (AGMF), and the 2025 ASEAN Goodwill Ambassadors and Mayors Council Meeting (MGMAC) in the capital city on August 12, 2025. She was invited to deliver a special address and subsequently attend the Joint Appreciation Session organized by Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof.

The program was open to the public for registration as participants, so she naturally did not know the identity of each individual present.

Dr Zaliha stated that accusing her of supporting or facilitating the resettlement of new Myanmar refugees contradicts her recorded actions while managing the Federal Territory Department. She mentioned some of the steps taken, including establishing the KL Strike Force as a self-reliant enforcement mechanism to handle issues of public safety and security, particularly in the capital, including the issue of illegal entry of Myanmar refugees.

"In fact, the first operation of the KL Strike Force was to deter illegal resettlement of Myanmar refugees in New Sentul. Through the KL Strike Force, I emphasize that action should be taken against illegal resettlement, unauthorized businesses, and the presence of unauthorized foreign nationals," she said.

She urged all parties not to take an image out of context to build a factually unsupported narrative.
