Dakwaan rasmi majlis pecah tanah penempatan pelarian Myanmar tidak benar, kata Zaliha

Former Deputy Prime Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa has dismissed allegations that she attended, inaugurated or participated in any land distribution ceremony for new Myanmar refugees. Dr Zaliha clarified that the social media post alleging her involvement is false and malicious, as it inaccurately links her to an individual and an event that never occurred.

She emphasized that she does not know the individual personally and had no formal or informal dealings with them. According to Dr Zaliha, the image circulated was believed to have been filmed at the ASEAN Urbanization, Forum Secretaries General and Mayor, and the 2025 ASEAN Head of Government and Mayor Meeting held in Malaysia on August 12, 2025.

She stated that she was invited to deliver a special speech and subsequently attend a Joint Ceremony for the program, which was open to the public. Therefore, she could not know the identity of each attendee. Dr Zaliha added that a single photo with another participant does not imply a personal relationship, inviting or endorsement of their views or actions.

She also noted that her stance on opposing the resettlement of new Myanmar refugees contradicts her record of actions during her tenure in the Federal Territory Department. Among the measures taken were the establishment of the KL Strike Force, a self-strengthening mechanism to address public safety and security issues, particularly in the country, including the issue of illegal entry of Myanmar refugees.

Dr Zaliha emphasized that the first operation of the KL Strike Force was to curb the illegal resettlement of Myanmar refugees in New Batu Sentul. Through the KL Strike Force, she stressed the need for action against illegal resettlement, unlicensed business practices, and the presence of unauthorized foreign nationals. Dr Zaliha urged all parties not to take a single image out of context to build a factually unsupported narrative.
