‘Atiku will not become President of Nigeria’ – Masari

Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, Presidential Adviser on Political Matters, has cautioned Nigerians against getting sidetracked by the political maneuverings of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general elections. In Dutse, Jigawa State, Masari dismissed Atiku as a "joker" and warned that his desperation to reclaim the presidency would not lead to victory.

"Atiku is a joker, don't waste your time listening to him. You know desperation will not give you what you want. Atiku is desperate and he will not become the president of this country, inshallah," Masari declared. The recent presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been vocal in criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the closure of the country's borders, which he claims have caused hardship for Nigerians.

Masari's statement comes in response to Atiku's assertions that he would reopen the borders and restore fuel subsidies if elected in the 2027 election, which have been met with skepticism by the Presidency and some APC officials, who view it as an unrealistic promise.
