In a climate change awareness campaign, the author discusses the Ghana Climate Literacy Portal (GCLP) and its impact on their understanding of climate change. The GCLP is Ghana's first national, free digital learning platform that aims to empower citizens through education, public access to information, awareness raising, and training in climate change matters.

The author applied for the Climate Activist Program (CAP 26) organized by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) and was required to complete the GCLP's Climate 101 course, which introduced climate science in eight modules. The course included quizzes to test comprehension before progressing. The author successfully completed the course and passed the application process for the CAP 26 program.

After participating in the CAP 26 program in Tamale, northern Ghana, the author returned to the GCLP platform to rewatch the modules, aiding their comprehension of climate change. The platform covers four of the six elements of the Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) framework, which includes education, public access to information, awareness raising, and training.

The GCLP is a vital resource for climate education and empowering citizens to take meaningful action. The platform also offers three additional courses taught by experts and professionals in climate advocacy, built environment climate adaptation and resilience, and climate negotiations. The author has taken all four courses and experienced significant impacts on their understanding of climate advocacy and the importance of climate action.
