Sybiha Welcomes EU Agreement On €6.6 Billion In Support For Ukraine

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed satisfaction with the European Union's consensus on the conditions for €6.6 billion in support from the European Peace Facility, according to UATV English. This significant agreement will facilitate increased military aid, weapons, and training for Ukraine, while simultaneously enhancing European security.

The Ukrainian diplomat emphasized this timely response to Russia's growing assertiveness and cautioned that Moscow's attempts to intimidate Europe would instead bolster Ukraine and the continent. Sybiha acknowledged the crucial role of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, alongside all EU member states, in intensifying their backing for Ukraine.

This agreement follows Europe's ongoing efforts to extend military aid to Ukraine and bolster their defense systems amidst Russia's ongoing conflict and mounting hybrid threats across the region. The European Peace Facility, an EU mechanism, is utilized for financing military assistance and other security-related actions. The €6.6 billion deal is anticipated to enable further shipments of weapons and additional military support to Ukraine.
