Kuala Pilah Form Two student death: Cause still undetermined after post-mortem, police question 21

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — The death of a 14-year-old Form Two student in Kuala Pilah remains under investigation after a post-mortem examination could not determine the cause of his demise, according to police. Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, the chief of the Negeri Sembilan police, disclosed that the autopsy was performed at the Forensic Medicine Department of Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban. The results of the examination have yet to be finalized, and further tests are being conducted, Keedaily reported.

So far, police have questioned 21 individuals, including students, teachers, and the deceased boy's parents, as part of the ongoing probe. The student was discovered unconscious at the school hostel the previous night and was promptly transported to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

Following the incident, a 16-year-old student was taken into custody to aid the investigation and has been remanded for six days, until October 1, to assist police in their efforts. The Education Ministry has also mandated an immediate audit of the school in light of the tragic incident and pledged full cooperation with the police.
