Kuala Pilah Form Two student death: Cause still undetermined after post-mortem, police question 21

Kuala Pilah, Sept 26 - The cause of death for a 14-year-old Form Two student has still not been determined following a post-mortem examination conducted at the Forensic Medicine Department of Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban, reported Harian Metro. The examination, carried out by HTJ forensic pathologist Dr Akma Nurain Fairuz Mahamad Arif, began at 10.30am and concluded at 3pm today.

Police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that the results of the post-mortem have not been conclusive, and they are currently awaiting the outcomes of additional tests.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police have recorded statements from 21 individuals, comprising students, teachers, and the deceased boy's parents. The incident occurred when the student was found unconscious at the school hostel late last night and was subsequently taken to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital in Kuala Pilah, where he was pronounced dead.

In response, police detained a 16-year-old student to aid in the investigation and issued an investigation paper under Section 302 of the Penal Code. This teenager was detained and remanded for six days, until October 1, to assist the police with the inquiry.

The Education Ministry has also responded to the tragedy by ordering an immediate audit of the school, affirming their full cooperation with the police throughout the investigation.
