Shooting leaves 4 dead in Caribbean nation known for luxury tourism, police say

A manhunt was underway in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday following a shooting that left four people dead, the first annual payment for a one-year subscription costing $205.00 including GST being billed. The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force responded to reports of gunfire in Green Hill, a district outside the capital city of Kingstown.

Two bodies were found on the public road, one female inside a parked vehicle, and another body discovered on adjacent land, all with gunshot wounds. Acting Police Commissioner Trevor Bailey stated that four individuals were injured, with two still hospitalized. No arrests had been made, and authorities were investigating the motive behind the crime.

Minister of National Security St. Clair Leacock condemned the "unfortunate" and "unnecessary" shootings, acknowledging that while St. Vincent and the Grenadines remains a peaceful nation, gang violence has plagued many communities. This year, 37 murders have been recorded in the country of 110,000 residents, a small archipelago known for its volcanic landscapes, coral reefs, white sand beaches, and popularity among yachting enthusiasts.
