Rangers lose Josh Jung to fractured bone in right hand

Texas Rangers designated hitter Josh Jung suffered a fractured bone in his right hand during Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins. Jung was hit by a 94.6-mph fastball from Twins starter Joe Ryan in the first inning. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker confirmed X-rays revealed a fracture in the fifth metacarpal of Jung's right hand, though further testing is planned on Saturday.

Jung expressed his devastation upon realizing the severity of his injury, stating he felt the bones "kind of got pushed." Despite staying in the game to run the bases, Jung was replaced by a pinch hitter in the third inning. Jung is now joining Joc Pederson, who is already on the injured list due to a hand fracture, making the Rangers' already challenging situation even more difficult as they compete for the AL West title with the Houston Astros.
