Police classify Kuala Pilah Form Two student’s death as murder, detain 16-year-old

Kuala Pilah police have labeled the death of a Form Two student as murder and taken a 16-year-old student into custody to aid the investigation. Deputy Commissioner Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, head of Negeri Sembilan police, revealed that preliminary investigations suggest the incident occurred at the school hostel around 8pm the previous day.

The victim was later rushed to Kuala Pilah Hospital, where he was declared dead. The police are currently examining the evidence to determine the sequence of events, circumstances, and potential motives behind the incident. Alzafny strongly advised the public to refrain from speculating or disseminating unverified information, as this could hinder the investigation and infringe on the privacy of the affected families.

He emphasized that any incident involving student violence, especially one resulting in loss of life, is handled with utmost seriousness by law enforcement. The police remain committed to conducting a professional, thorough, and evidence-based investigation, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. The Education Ministry has ordered an urgent audit of the school, and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek stated that both the ministry and the school would cooperate fully with the police.

Speculation has surfaced on social media regarding bullying as a possible cause, but authorities have not officially confirmed this as the reason for the student's death.
