PFIPC scam: Police, DSS, ICPC cleared me of creating fake agency — Gbajabiamila

Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has stated that the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission cleared him of wrongdoing over allegations surrounding the PFIPC. These allegations emerged during a press conference held at the 2026 Gbaja Mega Empowerment Programme in Lagos State.

The Chief of Staff assured that the reports of these investigations are available to the public. According to Gbajabiamila, following the thorough investigations, both the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services, as well as the ICPC, found him innocent of any wrongdoing. Gbajabiamila was previously implicated in the establishment of the PFIPC, which was headed by Adeniyi Adeyemi.

Adeyemi had alleged that Gbajabiamila demanded a 48% kickback from a N27.3 billion grant to the PFIPC, and that he had paid N400 million to Tinubu’s Chief of Staff through a proxy, owing an additional N200 million. Following these accusations, Adeyemi was arrested, detained, and later released. Gbajabiamila subsequently took legal action against Adeyemi for defamation after he was released from custody.
