Oracle layoffs 2026: Company cuts 546 cloud workers jobs in US as AI spending rises

Oracle has laid off 546 employees from its America Cloud Infrastructure organization, according to Business Insider. This accounts for 7.6% of the 7,185 employees covered by a document the company filed to comply with US age-discrimination law. The affected workers include software developers, program managers, infrastructure engineers, and data-center support staff.

The layoffs represent a 13% reduction in workforce, from 162,000 to 141,000 employees, despite Oracle's cloud infrastructure business seeing a 121% increase in revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. The spending on AI and cloud infrastructure also rose substantially, with capital expenditure reaching $28.5 billion in the same quarter.
