Oman coach says Saudi defeat disappointing, vows to address errors

Oman head coach Tarik Sektioui described his team's 3-0 loss to Saudi Arabia in the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup as disappointing, emphasizing the necessity to rectify mistakes ahead of their next match. Addressing the errors that led to conceding the first two goals during the press conference at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Sektioui stated that his side's performance improved in the second half, which might have provided a morale boost.

He explained that the improved play could be attributed to the coaching staff's tactical adjustments in the second half, concluding with three defenders. Sektioui highlighted that injuries to some players limited the coaching staff's available options, noting that Saudi Arabia was superior in winning aerial and ground duels. The head coach emphasized that the team's approach would remain unchanged, stressing that the players gave their best effort and that the coaching staff made tactical changes.

Sektioui underlined the need to improve physically and mentally, mentioning that Saudi Arabia was better prepared in both aspects during the first half of the match.
