Jerry Kaminski accounts for every North Dakota TD in 42-35 win over Indiana State in MVFC opener

Jerry Kaminski delivered four touchdown passes and contributed with two rushing touchdowns as North Dakota claimed a 42-35 victory over Indiana State, marking the Missouri Valley Football Conference's first game of the season on Saturday. The Fighting Hawks, ranked seventh in the Stats Perform Football Championship Subdivision poll, powered their way to a 42-21 halftime lead, bolstered by Kaminski's 39-yard middle pass to Cameron Weir.

However, Brady Allen's Sycamores mounted a comeback with two rapid touchdowns, the latter following an Indiana State recovered onside kick. With mere minutes left, Indiana State secured the ball on North Dakota's 11-yard line and turned the ball over on downs.

North Dakota's offensive firepower was undeniable, as Kaminski completed 33 of 48 passes for 381 yards and amassed 76 yards on 18 keeper runs. The team amassed a total of 520 yards of offense. Deng Deng led the way with 101 receiving yards on six catches, while Weir notched two touchdowns on two receptions. Korey Tai and Mason South also crossed the goal line for the Fighting Hawks.

Indiana State's Brady Allen was sharp, throwing for 270 yards with four touchdowns, and Jayden Reed added two scores on eight receptions for 129 yards.
