What we learned in week 6 of Greater Cincinnati high school football

Week 6 of the Greater Cincinnati high school football season featured some unexpected results. In Northern Kentucky, St. Xavier upset Elder 31-29 in the GCL-South race. St. Xavier's win came down to the final play, as their defense made a crucial stand early in the fourth quarter. St. Xavier quarterback Owen Davidson contributed 192 passing yards and three touchdowns, while running back Aiden Graham had a season-high 114 rushing yards.

Elder's offense struggled to keep up with St. Xavier's defense, which held them to just 207 rushing yards for the game.

Elsewhere, East Central rallied with a strong running game and defense to end Harrison's unbeaten season. East Central edged Harrison 24-21 after suffering a 21-7 halftime deficit. Senior Ryan Minges rushed for 186 yards on 28 carries and Colton Bellman added 64 yards on 12 attempts. In the second half, East Central scored from their second-half kickoff and forced a clutch interception to seal the victory. East Central currently ranks at the top of Class 4A in the Greater Cincinnati area.
