Man Arrested In Mumbai For Issuing Death Threats To CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh - The Crime Branch apprehended an individual in Mumbai on Friday for allegedly sending a death threat to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav via WhatsApp. The threatening message was directed towards the Dial-112 helpline WhatsApp number, which is managed from the Radio Headquarters in Bhadbhada. Reports suggest the message was received on Wednesday at approximately 11:30 am.

The sender, who addressed the Chief Minister by name, threatened to kill him, asserting that he would not survive for long. The message also included additional disparaging remarks about the Chief Minister. The sender subsequently altered the message twice, adding more menacing comments before ultimately deleting it. However, Dial-112 personnel captured a screenshot of the message and retained it as evidence.

Upon learning of the incident, senior officials were notified, and the Radio Headquarters forwarded a complaint to the Bhopal Police, which was then forwarded to the Crime Branch. The police registered a case against the sender on Thursday and initiated an investigation. Technical analysis of the mobile number used to send the WhatsApp message revealed that it was being utilized from Mumbai.

Consequently, a police team arrived in Mumbai on Friday and apprehended the accused. The accused is currently en route to Bhopal, where police will interrogate him regarding the motive behind the threat, the contents of the message, and whether any other individuals were involved in sending it. The screenshot of the threatening message, along with other technical evidence, has been preserved as part of the ongoing investigation.
