Russian strikes injure five and damage Auchan store at Lavina Mall

Russian forces launched a drone attack on Kyiv overnight, causing fires and injuring five people, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported. The attack targeted four districts of the capital, with a five-story residential building in the Solomianskyi district catching fire from the first to third floors, engulfing apartments and a grocery store on the ground floor.

Klitschko stated that twenty people were rescued from the building. Another fire broke out at an office building nearby after a drone fell close by. Additionally, a drone strike damaged an Auchan supermarket at Lavina Mall in the Sviatoshynskyi district, though no one was injured. Emergency crews continued firefighting efforts, and all five injured individuals received medical assistance either at the scene or later.

The attack followed a major Russian assault on Kyiv the day before, where 173 drones were launched, with 134 being shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
