White House blocks CNN from Air Force One as feud with media continues

The White House has announced that CNN will not be permitted on Air Force One during President Trump's upcoming trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, replacing CNN with a conservative network. This decision follows a feud between the administration and certain media outlets, with CNN, MSNBC, and Politico journalists recently returning to the White House grounds after a judge overturned President Trump's ban on their coverage.

The White House has been increasingly targeting media outlets whose coverage he finds unfavorable, taking both administrative and legal actions. The ban on CNN for Air Force One has been replaced by Real America's Voice, a conservative network, for the trip to the University of Tennessee versus University of Texas college football game.

The ban on CNN occurred after a judge struck down President Trump's ban on the three media outlets, citing potential constitutional violations. Earlier, the news outlets had been granted a reprieve by a US District Judge Timothy Kelly, who ruled that their ban on White House grounds was likely unconstitutional. CNN had previously aired live video from a state visit between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, despite the ban on their network, as they were part of the broader press pool.
