Kalau nyah beku aset pun tak cukup tampung denda RM50 juta, kata anak Najib

Nizar Najib, the son of former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, has stated that even with his father's assets frozen, the RM50 million fine imposed for the SRC International scandal may still be beyond his reach. Despite the assets being repossessed, Nizar, who also represents Peramu Jaya, suggested that any funds that could be raised might help in covering the fine. However, he noted that it would take significant efforts to accumulate the required amount, even if his father could pay it.

In a media briefing organized by the Umno media group in Pekan, Nizar expressed gratitude to the many Malaysians from various backgrounds who had voluntarily contributed more than RM36,000 to the Najib Solidarity Fund, launched by Umno to aid his former president in paying the fine. The Exco member from Pahang emphasized that the contributions were made by people from diverse backgrounds and that this demonstrated the continued support for Najib.

The amount, while not negligible, indicated that it would require a substantial period to fully cover the fine. Whether his father could bear the burden or not, it largely depended on the donations received.
