I don’t mind being insulted; I have a crocodile skin – President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama expressed his indifference towards insults aimed at him, emphasizing his unwavering dedication to Ghana and Africa. During a recent meeting in New York, Mahama tackled the rising trend of insults, vilification, and personal attacks on social media platforms. He shared his extensive experience in Ghanaian politics, noting that having faced intense criticism and attacks during his previous presidency, he had developed a tough skin to handle such negativity.

"I don’t mind being insulted," Mahama stated, "I’ve been insulted, vilified, and even voted out of office. So, I possess a crocodile skin. If you insult me, I don’t mind. You insult me, I don’t mind, and I am committed to doing what I can for my country and my continent."

Mahama reiterated his commitment to doing what he believed was right, despite the criticism he faced. "I will do what is right," he declared, "but we must decide how to address TikTok and other social media platforms. We can either let everyone insult freely or take action against those who publish harmful content. It’s a matter of balancing freedom of expression with the need to curb abusive speech."
