Atwoli tells Gachagua to stop invoking his name for political relevance

Nairobi, Kenya - Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU-K) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has responded to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's accusations that he uses his name to maintain political relevance. Atwoli claimed that Gachagua has given over 200 interviews in the same period that Atwoli has only done two.

He pointed out that Gachagua's recent appearances on Citizen TV were after a long gap of almost eight months since his last interview with Jeff Koinange. Atwoli challenged Gachagua to focus on his activities in the United States and accused him of harboring hate, which he said disqualified him from advising others. This latest exchange adds to a public feud between the two leaders as they prepare for the 2027 General Election.
