Taktik guna masalah untuk dapat sokongan?

The Malaysian Societies Registration Department, or JPPM, is known more commonly as RoS, short for Registrar of Societies. RoS has given National Harmony Alliance (PN) 30 days to explain why its registration should not be canceled. Currently, PN is just hanging by a thread. However, it is acknowledged that PN faces significant problems.

The writer uses this issue to appeal for public sympathy and gain support for PN. Once RoS is notified, PN continues to play the victim, positioning itself as a "victimized and oppressed party." The initial reaction of Senior Advisor Takiyuddin Hassan was that PN cannot accept the possibility of action against it being an act of malicious intention and political pressure from within and outside PN.

Takiyuddin also pointed out that RoS's action took place on the day of Dewan Undangan Negeri Melaka's dissolution to enable state elections. The target of these statements, according to the writer, is the component party and supporter members to sympathize with PN and hate the government accused of "malicious intent" in trying to block PN in the Melaka state election as a short-term strategy and long-term PRU16 strategy.

The second target is general public - both outside PN and neutral groups - to generate anger among them, which they claim was done to "retaliate against the oppression" allegedly inflicted upon them. However, what is not acknowledged is what led RoS to take action. It is because of allegations from Bersatu regarding several actions (alleged to be illegal) by PN as a coalition member.

Jun earlier, PAS, the strongest party within PN, stopped its political cooperation with Bersatu. Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) and Pejuang were brought in as new components to PN. PN also formed an electoral pact with BN in the PRN of Negeri Sembilan in August, a move that Bersatu accused as happening unilaterally. Takiyuddin's reaction was that RoS's action against PN might be due to "pressing political pressure from within and outside PN."

He presumably meant "Bersatu" as those who filed the complaint to RoS. Interestingly, by using the term "from within," Takiyuddin could still acknowledge Bersatu as a component of PN, even though PAS had already stated that Bersatu had automatically ceased to be a component of PN. Another point to clarify is that according to Takiyuddin, RoS's action makes PN take a "gag order."

This means no one can make any statement on behalf of PN regarding the RoS issue. Only Takiyuddin and PN Chairperson Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar are allowed to issue statements. However, PAS Chairperson Ahmad Fadhli Shaari took to Facebook to claim "the party that has the power" should do whatever they want. He reminded that whoever finds themselves under oppression in the future should remember this.

The writer wonders if PAS Chairperson Takiyuddin exempted from the "gag order" announced by Takiyuddin? Could it be just Takiyuddin and Ahmad Samsuri who are allowed to issue statements? For fairness, it is essential to state that RoS notified PN of their action based on various legal provisions explained to PN. Possibly, due to the "hanging" factor, RoS called for a statement to explain the action against PN as "hanging" rather than cancellation of registration.

RoS emphasized that the notice to PN was to request that they provide an explanation regarding the complaint filed by Bersatu. Finally, PN is asked to provide its side of the story. It is understood that Bersatu's complaint involves eight major allegations of improper management led by PAS. Takiyuddin was called by RoS to provide clarification before the notice of hanging was issued.

Also, Senior Advisor of Bersatu Azmin Ali was called. Wawasan, the newest component of PN, issued a statement alleging hidden hands behind RoS's action. The writer simply asks - was Wawasan informed about the "gag order" on PN?
