Russia attacks Ukraine with nearly 300 strike and jet drones - Air Force

Russian forces unleashed nearly 300 unmanned aerial vehicles, comprising strikes and decoy drones, against Ukraine on September 25, according to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). The Russian military launched 295 strike UAVs, including 52 jet-powered Shahed-type drones, Gerbera reconnaissance-strike drones, Banderol/Dan-T loitering munitions, and Parodiya radar-decoy simulators.

By 7:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defense units had intercepted and neutralized 267 of the Russian drones across the nation. Despite the high interception rate, the AFU confirmed direct strikes in 16 locations, with debris and downed targets recorded at four more. Russian drone attacks persisted in waves throughout the morning of September 25.

In the capital city of Kyiv, repeated drone waves initiated fires in two municipal districts, resulting in injuries to one civilian resident. State Emergency Service (SES) rescue teams responded to widespread fires in Boryspil, Obukhiv, and Brovary districts. In Zaporizhzhya, a regional center, Russian strike drones caused direct damage to a local hospital facility. One person sustained injuries in this strike.
