Punjab Fines Famous TikToker Rs. 90,000 for Illegal Hunting

Punjab Wildlife Rangers have imposed a fine of Rs. 90,000 on TikToker Iman Ali for allegedly promoting illegal hunting through photographs shared on social media. The enforcement action occurred in Chakwal district, led by Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Mirza Abid Hussain. The wildlife rangers launched a province-wide campaign against wildlife offenses, which led to penalties for other individuals involved in poaching and the possession of protected bird species.

During the operation, they recovered around two dozen wild birds and seized 36 netting gears meant for hunting quails and falcons.

In Chakwal, a quail hunter faced a fine of Rs. 30,000, while a separate legal case was initiated against someone for illegally keeping 14 peacocks. The rescued peacocks were subsequently relocated to Jauharabad Wildlife Park. Across the entire province of Punjab, 30 suspects were fined, accumulating a total of Rs. 919,000 in penalties.

Additionally, cases were registered against two other individuals involved in illegal hunting and trading activities. Wildlife teams also took action against poachers and traders in various districts, including Sahiwal, Attock, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Khushab, Narowal, Multan, and Nankana Sahib.
